Ground speed calibration?

Postby Lorcan on Sun Jul 05, 2009 9:41 pm

We got nearly a whole pass in on our dragbike yesterday, and now know that 560 on our wheel speed sensor is 130mph. How do I update the datalog to display this correctly? I've set up a speed calibration in ECU Manager for next time, but can't seem to change the i2 datalog retrospectively. The units are currently set to unitless(), and the drop down doesn't give any other options.

Hello,

I have used "wheel speed" to name your particular channel that you recieve from your speed sensor.
To change "wheel speed" from unitless to km/h, On the i2 Toolbar, click Tools – Channel Mappings – Then click Add button. In the list find "wheel speed" channel, use this name in the Analysis Name field identically so all the graphs work properly and select units to speed and km/hr – click ok and you should get corrected speed and the distance function will work.

If not, you will also have to change the following – if this is the only vehicle you do data analysis on, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Click tools – corrected speed & distance –click on "wheel speed" channel in the channels list and click the Move Up button until it is at the top and you should get corrected speed. Ensure enable Corrected Speed and the “use the first available” boxes are ticked.
