I didn't need to split the data to get the GPS to work, I just zoomed in enough that the bad GPS data wasn't visible in the time graph.

Split Data
To split a log file, on the File menu, click Split Data.
If the datum cursor is displayed the file is split into three parts otherwise it is split into two.

To discard one part, clear the corresponding check box.
The original file is not deleted.
The Log Time detail of each file is incremented by 1 minute to make the time order of the resulting files clear.

I have attached a trimmed version of your file.

I got the generation of laps to work!

Now when I generate the sections though, the start/finish line is still in the wrong place and it generates 147 sections for the track, which is definitely incorrect. Any advise on how to generate the sections?

What function are you using to generate the sections?

When I do the sectors using the same function and the default settings it generates fairly normal sector breaks, so I am not sure what is causing yours to generate so many.

Is there another method for generating sectors?

Also, how do I move the start / finish line to the correct location?

To move the start line, you can place the datum cursor in the correct location on the track map and use the co-ordinates from that, or manually enter them. This is done using Tools | Lap Editor. If there are already laps in the list, you will need to remove them before redoing the laps. Click on the Generate Laps (using GPS) button and either click the From Cursor button to use the cursor location, or type in the GPS co-ordinates and then click the Execute button. This will generate the new laps.

I generate the track and get the following track

I generate the laps using the the method you outline and get the resulting laps, but the start line is still in the wrong place.

Which gives me the wrong track, see the inset map and the lap is going through the hot pits because the start finish line is in the wrong place still

So even setting the cursor on the screen or typing in the coordinates still gives me the incorrect start/finish line. Any help is appreciated.

If you view the GPS Track, does it have the S/F line in the correct location?
