I'm using i2 std 1.03.0106 and everything worked fine. but now the circuit project option does not start anymore. all others do and on i2 pro 1.03.0106 all do. I reïnstalled i2 std (both repair and remove options) but it still does not work.

I know that I can use another project option, but then I have create the layout I'm using all over again.

Can someone tell me how to fix this problem?

Thanks,

Carlo Vermeulen

sometimes a project can be corrupted. This can happen if a battery goes flat, or the pc shuts down with only some of the changes to the project written back to the file. There are a few ways to fix this, one way if you wish to keep your existing project, and the other if you are happy to go back to the default circuit project.

if you go to here:

C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MoTeC\Standard Projects\Circuit

If you delete this directory, a new one will be created, with all of the default settings, and this will fix the problem.

If you want to try to keep your project, go into this directory, (copy it elsewhere as a backup first) and start deleting things until you can open it in i2. This will show you which part of the project is broken. Restore your saved project, delete just that file, are you are done.. (missing only the part which was corrupted._

Jamie you're right. The battery went flat. I've fixed the problem (and kept my project settings) with the solution you gave me.

thanks
Carlo

Hi Jamie,

Where is this directory in Vista?

I had the same problem earlier this week, Pro was working fine though.

I'm using Vista business.

I deleted the circuit project folder and the software then reinstalled, Circuit still won't load in i2 std though.

Today i2 pro opened and loaded my normal project, any file i opened though appeared to have no data or laps.

I copied the data files to another computer where they opened fine.

Tried other pro projects and still no data.

I've now reinstalled pro and it works again, even using a back up of my old project still works.

What has happened here?

It's fixed now but was highly inconvenient this morning!

Keep in mind that i2 standard and i2 pro projects are separate, and kept in separate locations.

i2 pro projects are under my documents\motec

i2 Standard projects are hidden under

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\MoTeC\Standard Projects

ensure you acually deleted that one, not the pro circuit project...

The solution above works with Windows Vista, however in Windows XP the project folders are located here:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\MoTeC\Standard Projects

In Windows7 the project folders are located in the same place as Vista.
