How do I get a channel to remember a filter?

Postby WozzaUK on Mon Jul 30, 2018 7:26 am

Hi,
I have a particularly noisy channel and I've found I can improve the look of the data by adding a filter. However the next time I restart the software the filter has gone and I have to reapply it.

Is there a way of making a filter permanent so i2 loads it every time for that channel?

Thanks, :)

I assume you have been applying the filter to the channel by right clicking on the channel in a T/D graph and adding it through the sub menu. This is a non-permanent filter, it will be removed when you close your workspace or i2. If you want to make it a permanent filter you have to do it through the maths editor (Tools>Maths or CTRL + M).

In the maths editor there is an 'Add Filter' button which will create a permanent filter for the particular channel you choose. You can either add it under "Workspace Maths" or "Log File Maths".

If you add it under the Workspace maths the filter will apply to that channel in any log file you open in that Workspace. If you add it under the log file maths it will only apply to that channel in that particular log file.

OK I have just been doing some fiddling. When you have successfully added a filter to a channel, that channel has the greek E on it. Is that correct?

Thing is the filter doesn't seem to be working atm. :geek:

It's OK I figured it out. I had the T/D graph squeezed into one corner so the filter wasn't very visible when it was applied. When I stretch it out I can see it. :D
