track file problem

Postby terryo on Sat Feb 24, 2018 8:32 pm

i am using ECU manager 3.5.4.2 to extract data and i2 standard (latest update) to try to analyse stored data from my M800. i have an on-board GPS receiver

my first problem is i cannot find the Morgan Park track in the database when i import and save the logged file. i cannot work out how to add that track to the database, but of course i can type in its name in the details and then that appears in I2 analysis. as part of the process the software asks if you want to add a new track name, but nothing happens if i tick OK.

any hints or tips would be appreciated

thanks, Terry

M800 does not have a database of tracks. The Venue name is supplied by you when you download the data. Can you supply a screen shot of the what you are seeing? (I don't have an M800 presently that I can connect to).

So, which database are you referring to? Do you mean the "Venue" column when you choose File->Open Log File.. in I2?

Once you have opened your logged data file in I2, do you see the track shape when you use the menu Tools->Track Editor...?

YES . the track map seems correct

NO, when i "get logged data", i have the problem. i'll repeat it when i next connect and let you know. I can use 'details editor" to change the venue name to whatever i want

thank you very much for taking time to try to help me

Be sure to try just typing in a new venue name when downloading, instead of picking from a pop-up menu. It may be that you are seeing a list of previously entered tracks.

i have uploaded some new files from practise today.

when it finishes uploading the data , i get the following message. no matter what i do, i cannot seem to create a new venue and save it . there is a drop-down menu which gives me a selection of tracks, but if i try to use that, i get the 'directory does not exist" message

I can save all the data no troubles, but this bit is annoying

Have you tried clicking "yes" so it can create the necessary directory? I normally see this when the "Logging Directory" doesn't exist yet for a new venue.

In order for someone to duplicate your issue, can you provide info on what version of Windows OS you are using, what the logging directory and venue name are set -- essentially we need to understand the exact steps you are taking. You really haven't fully described what you did before getting the "directory does not exist" message.

I'm sure we can get this sorted.
