GPS track map start/finish definition

Hi Guys,

Running a M1 with C125 dash.

I recently did a round at SMSP South Circuit which is not included in the C125 by default so I used google maps to find the start/finish coordinates, set them up in dash manager and uploaded to the car.

I am now reviewing the logs in i2 and it seems that the start/finish coordinates from google maps were not 100% accurate (showing start/finish at the wrong point on the circuit).

I am now trying to redefine the start/finish using lap editor and track generator in i2 however I am getting some odd behavior. The correct position is show on the GPS Track worksheet after re defining the start/finish to correct coordinates, however a different position on the circuit is shown on the track position map (bottom right)??

Any ideas??

Cheers,
Trev

The track map uses lap distance to determine the position so if you have changed the start/finish line then it will no longer match the GPS track map.

To fix this regenerate your track map by going to Tools|Track Editor and then clicking generate track. Select the lap you want to use and then click ok. Your track map and GPS track map should now match.

Thanks Adrian really appreciate the quick response and that did the trick.

One more question, it seems that the track map in this instance is counting the distance traveled around the pits, dummy grid, refueling area etc and that is throwing the track map out. I am working on splitting the data file to remove those sections.

I'm just wondering why this has never been an issue previously at tracks where the start/finish is defined correctly in the dash Eastern Creek GP for example. Seems that it somehow knows and doesn't count those distances towards lap generation...

Any clue as to why it is counting those distances in this case?

Cheers,
Trevan

The track map will be based off what ever lap you select when you generate it. Normally it will only allow you to select trusted laps (ie ones that are within a certain percentage of the track lap distance) but it is possible you selected one that is an in/out lap.

Try regenerating the track but make sure the lap you select is only a single lap of the track.
