I2 Pro 1.1 issue with setup sheets

Hi,

I am having trouble to open the .xlsm setup sheets in I2 Pro 1.1 (they are OK with .xls extension in I2 Pro 1.0).

I can create the setup sheet. But then, if I make a change on the spreadsheet hitting the Edit button, when I save and close the spreadsheet the value is not updated in the Value list table.

Could you provide me with any insight?

Regards,

Federico Raffo

Make sure that Excel is saving the file with the .xlsm extension.

I have exactly the same problem as OP

In a fresh project i create a new Setup Sheet - it opens up excel and show the sheet - top bar shows its xlsm format.

I either now punch in values and save the sheet - confirming that its still xlsm format and close it. I map my way to the sheet and confirm its xlsm format.

In motec i can see the sheet in Setup Sheets (CTRL T), no values are shown in the window. I open the sheet and the values i punched in there are still in the sheet.

Its like MoTeC is not reading the values or that its discharging them.

Tested with totally new worksheet, using the sample logfile "Calder" as well as my own stuff.

Windows 10, office 7, Motec 1.1 i2 pro

Couple of questions:

1. Have you set the folder for the setup sheets or are you using the default?
2. If you are using the default, is your "Documents" folder located in C:\Users\"Username"\Documents or is it mapped from somewhere else?

Hi Adrian - thanks for the fast reply

I have tried both - same result.

Mine are also located in My documents under the userfolder, but in a different library. Further info, my win10 user is "administrator" in its privileges.

Best regards
Martin

There are a couple of issues, the main one being the mapped Documents folder. There will be a beta i2 version available in the next couple of weeks that should fix that issue.

One thing to try in the mean time:

Go to C:\MoTeC (create the folder if it doesn't already exist) and then create a folder called setup sheets. In i2 go to Tools>Options>Analysis then tick the "Save Setup Sheets to a custom folder" button. Select the folder you just created and see if that works.

Thanks for looking into the subject Adrian

Unfortunately its not working for me - i tried C:\MoTeC\setup sheets, C:\MoTeC\Setup Sheets, C:\MoTeC\setup_sheets and C:\MoTeC\Setup_Sheets

I tried with my own worksheet and with a fresh created Circuit1 using the Calder logfile from the samples.
Still no go.

I'm going to try to uninstall office 2007 and install Office 2016 and see if that has an impact.
If you would like me to test some things just give me a shout. Been testing anyting from Falcon4.0 BMS for 10 years to time registration software in the Danish Police.

Update

Using Office 2016 did not make any difference

One thought. Since the Calder data is from 2005, did you make sure that the data entered in the setup sheet has an earlier date than that? I know the default on my old one was 1996, but you need to make sure you have data entered on that line. Could there be any issue with the date format?

Perhaps you could attach the setup sheet here and we could try to reproduce on our own installations using the Calder sample data.
