i2 Pro Error

Postby mangel83 on Thu Nov 13, 2008 10:48 pm

Today when starting i2 at first glance everything was normal until I went to check some math channels and they were not displayed, I checked the maths (crtl + M) and they were all there and all said OK in the expression error box, but for some reason no graphs could be generated with them, they all yielded 0 (zero) as value; right clicking the channel and checking channel status all of them showed OK. I restarted i2 and nothing, I then restarted my computer and still the same. After checking everything I also noticed that all the scales of my math and logged channels were changed, some of them even displaying wrong characters i.e. 1.3#; then when browsing through the Values Window the software crashed and generated an error report which is attached to this post.

This was running i2 Pro V1.02.0119 on a Windows XP Home Edition v2002 Service Pack 1.

Good thing I have a backup of my project, I will be reinstalling i2 to see if this solves the problem. Should I uninstall the previous version before installing a newer one or I can install the new one directly?

Hi Manuel

In the first instance you should install the latest version of I2 from the website (v1.03.0106) as your version is out of date. There is no need to uninstall the old version before doing this, just make sure you have a backup of your I2 projects.

It would also be a good idea to make sure you have the latest XP service pack as Service Pack 1 is quite old.

See where you are once your software is up to date.
