Open Office for Setup Sheets?

Does i2 support use of Open Office (instead of Excel) for Setup Sheets?
I need to buy a new laptop and they're only available with Windows 8. I loathe Excel 2007/2010 and my beloved Excel 2000/2003 won't run in Windows 8.

There is a option of a "upgrade" to W7 when you purchase a new computer at the moment, I'm not sure if it applies to all manufacturers though. It would be best to enquire with the reseller that you are dealing with.
