Hi guys , do you experienced problems playing with videos on i2 over windows 7?
This is my software
Windows 7 professional sp1 64 bit original.
i2 pro release 1.18.0017 , main concept codec installed.

As soon as you copy a video (avi , mov , ecc.) on the folder C:/motec/videos , i2 pro stop working  ... Tried different brand new project , different video file (non VCS) , new i2 installation....

Looking forward to hearing from you soon

Best regards ,

Mattia

I am using windows 7/64 on 1.18.0017 with main concept, and it is working just fine. So there isnt a specific problem with that combination.

There are 2 options here, auto synced video files and manually synced videos.

If you have only manually synced files, then go into Tools, options, Video, and delete all directories from the cideo search folders section. This is because you dont use this feature, and it will cause i2 to search for sync information that doesnt exist. Next, select Reset from the bottom of the screen.

You should be done now.

If you have auto synced videos (MoTeC VCS or VSM synced files)

What I would suggest to you is this:

go into Tools / options / video, and select the reset button at the bottom of the tab.

Next close i2.

Now copy all of the videos into a directory that you intend to use.

Hint: Create a video directory that contains ONLY video files that you intend using with data, and no other files. This is not a necessity, but seems to work better that way.

Now once done, open i2.

Go back into Tools, Options, Video, and delete all directories from the search folders except this new one that you have created for these new videos.

Select ok

Select View / Messages, and you should see i2 scanning through this new directory for any videos that have automatic syncronisation.

This should fix problems with auto synced video files.

When trying this I get a message "resetting the video database will cause all video synchronisation information to be refreshed. This may take a long time. Are you sure you want to continue?''

hitting "YES" I get..

"The video sync database could be reset. An unexpected error occured."

I am not able to remove or change video directories and have it stick. it always returns back to c:\MoTec\Videos.

I am on MoTec i2 Standard 1.180018 Interpreter Standard 1.0.18.18 with CDL3

I wonder if you are having a user access problem with the location of the video database file.

Are you trying to use any of the MoTeC auto sync features (VCS via CAN or VSM?)

it seems that you are unable to delete it, so you probably cannot create it either.

are you logged in as administrator? Do you have full access to the PC?

Jamie

i think in some case, the motec folder is installed as a system or hidden folder for some reason, i guess there is why it is not working.

i am running i2pro on my brand new win 7 installed ultrabook, worked out very good.

I was under the impression that any video file could be added to i2 Standard data. which I now find to not be true. I will be looking into other options for Video-Data overlay. Thank you for your help.

video data overlay works in i2 standard only if you have a motec VCS.

if you have a non motec brand camera, you need to have i2 pro.
