Drag profile questions

Question #1:

Regarding the clutch slip calculation in this profile. One of the requirements is to have drive shaft rpm logged. Is there some way to trick i2 to let one use a math channel as an input instead of the driveshaft rpm channel. I plan on averaging the left and right rear wheel speeds and multiply this by the differential gear ratio to calculate the driveshaft rpm instead.

Question #2:

I've added a worksheet to the profile, but I am unable to add a track report or GPS track on the new worksheet. Is there any way to do this?

1) Can you use the maths in i2 standard to calculate this? I think that you should be able to..

2) there are no tracks in the drag project, as we expect that the track will be straight and not of much use.

If you want to use a track map, you need to use either the rally or Cirtuit project..

Jamie,

Thanks for the response.

1) Yes, when I first tried to do this, I couldn't select the correct channels. I wasn't sure if this was because with the Drag profile you are locked to using a Driveshaft RPM sensor or not. It turns out that I did not have the other channels I needed logged, so they didn't show up as options. Now I have it working properly.

2) I can think of a couple of reasons to allow a track map with the Drag profile. It allows you to very quickly tell which lane you ran the car in on a given pass. If you don't have a steering wheel angle sensor, it will make it easy to tell that the car got sideways and moved around on the track. When scrolling through the run in the time domain, it makes it the fastest way to figure out where the run starts versus what may be a burn out. Just in general, I would prefer it if it were left in as an option. I assume that it requires work on Motec's part to remove a feature such as track mapping from a profile. Given this, I think it would be best if Motec left all of the features in the different profiles and the user can just decide to use them or not depending on what they need. I realize that this does result in more software clutter.
