help with I2

i have installed std I2 and Motec M1 and have tried to connect with my laptop but no luck. have used both ethernet and USB but does same thing. when i connect laptop and car via cable, open i2 and click download it will open by itself M1 and will do nothing.
i2 and M1 has its own connectors. the system works as team can download both, but they use i2pro.
any ideas?

Hi,

Do you have M1 Tune installed? i2 is used to analyse the data logged by the M1, but it requires M1 Tune to be installed to retrieve the data from the M1.

Does the M1 have the Use Pro Logging option enabled?

i dont this so, i installed both M1 and i2 only. how do i enable?

Hi David,

The Pro Logging is a Enable that is purchased to allow for i2 Pro to be used for the analysis of the data logging.

can i change, so i can use just std version of i2 or do i have to buy pro. the team have pro version, i dont need pro, just std is fine.

I2 Standard can be used with any log file from the ECU or MoTeC dash.

You have not clearly stated you that you have "M1 Tune" installed. This is required for communications.

Perhaps you have installed "M1 Build" by mistake -- this has nothing to do with the communications with the M1 ECU required to retrieve your logged data.

You will also need an Ethernet connection from your laptop to the car. Typically this is just an RJ46 Twisted Pair Ethernet patch cable, but your car could have a unique connector and require a special cable.

Where are you located? When can you be with the car and your laptop to work on this?

Hi Dave,
i have installed Motec M1 tune 1.4 and Motec i2 standard 1.1. the car has two connections one for M1 and other for i2. i have tried 3 lap tops via ethernet and USB and no lucl..
the team has i2 pro and no issue with getting both data, my std version will not connect.
i am in Melbourne australia, if u could help that would be awesome.

Hi,

That sounds like you have a C series colour display in the vehicle as well, and the other Ethernet port in the vehicle is for the Display. i2 does not have any hardware directly connected with it, it is used to analyse data from various MoTeC Data logging devices.
