i2 folder problem and general questions

Postby jhidley on Mon Nov 08, 2010 6:04 pm

1) It seems that every time you start up i2, it makes a Motec folder in the root directory of your hard drive. Is there any way to disable this? Under Tools, Options, Video, I've set the folder to be one within the My Documents folder.

2) Is there any way to delete data the way you would in most audio or video editors? Select the area in the time domain you want to get rid of and then select delete. I can't find any way to select the data. The only way I've found is to use the Split Data function.

3) With Histograms, is there any way to determine/specify in the time or distance domain what data they operate on, as opposed to using all of the data in the log?

4) When you place a video on a worksheet, and select Add Video file, the file selection box opens up to where ever you have selected to store logged data, even though I have selected to store videos in a different directory.

I've managed to find answers to some of these questions.

2). No. You must use the split data function. This is unfortunate as you have to delete two to four files when you are done and edit the Log Start time to make it correct again.

3) The historgam is based on the data set in the current time or distance domain view, no matter which worksheet the data is displayed on.

Duane mentioned that you have not had any response from us to your forum posts...

You have answered questions 2 and 3 correctly and correct i2 is not an audio/video editor... :) It has been a feature request from day one to have the ability to cut and change the log file to suit the user.

We have put items 1 and 4 to be fixed by the design engineers...
