Combining Dual Half Bridge Outputs

I need to PWM a fuel pump with a maximum current draw of 19A. Is it possible to connect both of the outputs of the Dual Half Bridge together to meet the current requirement

Hi,

I am presuming that you mean the DHB external controller? (P/N 41213)?

If so, then you can do this with these units, I would however recommend that the DHB is used to low side switch the pump, rather than high side.

Hi Stephen
That is the controller I am referring to.
I have two pumps and will be running each off a 20A output on my PDM30. If I use the DHB to low side switch the pump will I be able to use the 1 DHB to independently control each pump?

Hi,

For that current draw, you would need to have a separate DHB for each pump.

I do have an extra DHB which I hadn't allocated a use to yet, though I do need to PWM 2 MAC valves as well and the factory PPS solenoid in the steering rack

The ECU can drive the MAC Valves, they are low current draws.

The PPS Solenoid will most likely have a quite high current draw (60A+) and usually has a dedicated control circuit built in.
