M48 USB controller wiring pinout...

Postby NiTeC on Thu Jan 15, 2009 8:06 am

Hey guys...wondering if anybody has some ideas...

I am trying to use this serial2usb controller: DLP-TXRX Internal USB

however it uses the Tx - Rx D9 connections (pin 2 and 3) where the M48 uses pins 9 7 5 1 (RI RTS GND DCD)...

is there a way I can make this work?

You would need to use it with a MoTeC PCI Cable on an M48. The PC end of the PCI cable uses the standard serial pins.

hmmm..

wired everything up, all connections test ok, setup the converter to COM1 and it still says not connected...

is there a way to make Motec connect on a different com other than COM1?

thanks for the help btw...

I keep trying to get this to work..

If I try to manually set the COM settings in DOS (I disabled the serial port in BIOS to avoid confusion) using the MODE command I can get the following setup:

Baud: 9600
Parity: None
Data Bits: 8
Stop Bits: 1
Timeout: OFF
XON/XOFF: OFF
CTS Handshaking: ON
DSR Handshaking: ON
DSR Sensitivity: OFF
DTR Circuit: HANDSHAKING
RTS Circuit: HANDSHAKING

I have wired the above mentioned controller AFTER the circuit that was on the original cable - I noticed that the input to that circuit are the MOTEC serial OUT - pins 1,5,6,7 and 9 but the output are pins 2,3 and 5 (RX, TX, Gnd)...so technically wiring those pins to the controller's inputs should work fine....the controller installs properly, it receives COM1 as assigned value and everything checks out - BUT MOTEC software just keeps saying the ECU is disconnected...

If I try to connect to the COM using Hyperterminal I cannot open a connection for Baud higher than 4800...

Any help is appreciated - I really want to make this more accessible through the USB port....
