WRX9-10 on USDM EJ257; main relay/driver warn configuration

In the process of ironing the last few wrinkles out of the following setup:

2006 USDM STI w/EJ257
MoTeC WRX9-10 M800 plug-in
Custom patch loom

My biggest remaining concern is the IGN6 output being shared by both the C11 and C23 pins on the MoTeC board. There are no jumper/link settings for this - they are hard-wired on the PCB, with C23 having a diode in-line. The function in the base map for IGN6 is "driver warn" however the white paper also indicates that it controls the main relay on USA models.

Unless this output is held low (which will illuminate the driver warning constantly) I do not see how the main relay will stay closed.

I am trying to determine the proper configuration in the software (as well as any wiring changes, if needed) to make this work. I've attached three images - one showing the circuit on the WRX9-10 board, and two showing simplified versions of the 2006 STI wiring. For reference, MoTeC pins C11 and C23 = STI pins A17 and D16, respectively. The message board may clip the right-hand side of the images - please click to see the full picture.

There is more to the MoTeC circuit that you have shown.

IGN6 can be used as a power hold function on C23 or the warning light on C11.

C23 is always activated by different means on the adapter ( not under ECU control ).

I am curious what you mean by this. The MoTeC circuit shown is the entire circuit on the lower PCB - I followed the traces and they both connect to the upper PCB through a single pin on the bridge...

I guess I could have missed a trace in there somewhere...

When you said "C23 is always activated by different means on the adapter ( not under ECU control )." Are you referring to a separate circuit on the MoTeC WRX9-10 acting solely on C23? i.e. still under ECU control... just not user-programmable control?

Yes, you missed some parts of the circuit. C23 is controlled by an ignition input from the car or the M800 IGN6 pin.

So basically, this is what I missed (in red):



While it's a moot point, I'll be retro-fitting an OKM board to the main board this weekend - I'll double-check for the trace(s) I missed on the PCB - the diode is near impossible to see with the top board in-place. I'm sure they're there, I was just hesitant to try starting until I verified this electrical concern.

Yep, That's what you originally missed.

Yep - there it was, top-side trace extending from the anode through-hole! Was only able to see it when I installed the OKM.
