Hot idle on Evo8 M800 PNP

Postby gio on Thu Apr 16, 2015 12:24 am

Hi,
I have a boring problem with my idle when i drive.

I have an Evo8, with a M800 PNP with AFR option.
Configuration : 2.3 GT35R82, with piper cam 282.

No problem with my cold start, cold idle.
At 90° WT, idle is stabilizing correctly on 1100rpm.

When running, no problem too. But when I slow, or I have to gear down, when the engine has to reachs near that 1100 rpm, the idle falls, and the engine stops. It seems that the idle stepper cannot manage the slow or the gear switch.
Exactly the same when I have to stop, the idle is falling and the engine stops.

The strange thing is that I can drive without this problem, 2-3 minutes, and the problem appears.

Thanks for your help

Sounds like it just needs tuned.

Unfortunatly, the tune is fine, AFR fine, ignition fine.

Maybe the speed of the idle stepper ?

A "tune" consists of more than 2 tables you know.

Your idle speed control settings are an integral part of that tune. So if there is a problem, then clearly it is not fine.

Thanks Stevie,

That's the point.
I think I need some help to better understand the meaning of this problem :-)

Given the many aspects to get idle nice....it would be very very hard to do remotely unless you were already very familiar with the ecu setup.

And if you were familiar...you'd be able to get to the bottom of the problem already.

Maybe not enough familiar :-)

I fixed the problem, simply by tuning OV, and add a little bit I.

Thanks.
