Gear shift function

Hello :)

i'm using the gear shift function to control an air shifter.

There's a bit of a twist though, I'm using a 3d table in aux 4 gear shift up to switch the digital input for gear shift up (ie aux 4 switches dig 3 to ground to activate).

When in utilities i can activate aux 4 and it switches the up shift solenoid perfectly, but no matter what I put in the aux 4 table I can't get the solenoid to operate with ecu connected.

I realise there is a "loop" situation here, but any ideas how to achieve what I'm after? - I want an rpm based, gear dependent table to make the upshift command - ie full auto upshift at the table requested rpm.

Any ideas please?

Hmmm, think I may know what to do - use another aux output table to drive dig 3 upshift request which then drives aux 4 upshift solenoid operation.

Are you trying to do this with a geartronics setup or are you trying to be a cheap scotsman?

Remember the Motec gets a shift request then outputs the signal to activate the solenoid in conjunction with a cur or blip in the appropriate sequence. So you can't trigger the shift with itself! Which is what you've found of course. The trick is to use another aux table, set perhaps as a shift light or some such thing to trigger your automatic shifting. You can use a variety of functions though and you can also use multiple aux tables feeding each other to trigger the shift. Or if you're using a motec dash use a 3d table and or some further maths to create a complex rule set and then send an input via ADL transmit and receive it on an AT as an ADL input.

Lol, cheap Scotsman ;)

Now I understand your question at Snett :)

Can't remember what I did, but I got it working, thanks.
