Launch Control working on GPS Speed??

Hi,

I have an MY05 STi running a M800 Plug in ECU with a CDL3 dash (I think it is called track kit – the one with all the bits)

We have enabled Launch Control on the ECU and have tuned it to work off wheel speed up to 60km/h. The issue that I am having is that the ground speed (from the GPS unit on the Dash) is only getting to about 15km/h by the time the wheels spin over 60 and therefore disable launch control.

Understandably this is not really what we are looking for. Is there a way to get the GPS Ground Speed from the CDL3 back into the ECU and use it in my launch control function?

Thanks

Steve

You're looking at it the wrong way!

What you should be asking yourself is "how do I stop the excessive wheelspin that I am getting on launch?" You can limit that if you want by ramping in the launch limit using GPS speed as well as a variety of other options, given the lag you will get from stationary with GPS speed.
