M800 plug in ecu sti 7 cannot connect

took out a PnP from a 05 sti and plug in another set to test if its working.Cannot connect to the lap top.Once i plug it back to the original set it works.First time working on Motec tryin to figure out if there is anything or any immboliser that i need to set?
