Can i plug a Motec GPS aerial into M800 oem??

I've posted this in the GPS section but thought i would post here also in case anybody has any ideas that doesn't look in the gps section

I have an M800 oem with advance tuning and logging, (1mb standard) for a Evo 8MR.

My question is can i add a GPS aerial and plug straight into the ecu as i do not run a motec dash and it seems from the info i have read that you need a dash?
I only what to run it for the logging side of things as a track map and times will be useful on track days I don't need live timing in the car, just for analysing after.
