Wire spec for CAN

I seem to have a CAN clitch in my race car..its been there since the system was installed /car built
system is M800 ,ADL, and Plm...
after numerous changes..term resistor moved ect ect the problem just seems to move around
1st it was laptop will not connect when engine running
now its loss of can to ADl at high rpm ,,,around 7500 ..engine runs to 9200

I now put it down to the cables I have used ...

so my question is ...What is the cable spec for CAN wirring ...and what brands and part number are poeple using with success

I intend to remove all the can wirring and redo it

Ok, the recommended wiring for a can bus is to use 22G tefzel wire, twisted together, not with other wires, at a minimum of one twist per 50mm. You should place a 100r terminating resistor at each end of the trunk, with no more than 500mm from the trunk to the can devices.

So to make the loom, look at the number, and placement of can devices. Twist together a bus that runs right past each requred can device, and place a term resistor at each end. Now just splice off this bus to the devices.

the cable is also know as databus cable in the aerospace world and a derevative in the computer world called twinax (short for twin axial cable)

this is what I use for CANBus network communication. Works especially well for relatively EMI/RFI free car environment. The cable would be the 100ohm variety.
