Pressure sensor

Postby 07-EDM-STI on Fri Mar 27, 2009 6:10 pm

Hi guys,

I like to know if I can use my pressure sensor instead of the Honeywell sensors? I got my sensor from this website

http://www.racetechdirect.com/products/pressure1.htm

and the OEM is this

http://www.meas-spec.com/product/t_prod ... x?id=2888#

thanks in advance :)

It is 0-5 V - so looks like it should work - you might need calibration curves for the absolute numbers to be accurate, so see if they supply those.

If you are just making relative measurements, then who cares.

thanks for the reply :)

I do know the calibration of the sensor

the 100 psi version has these values

0.00 psi = 1.0V, 100 psi = 5V

the 250 psi version

0.00 psi = 1.0V, 250 psi = 5.0V

I use the innovate LMA-3 to datalog the fuel and oil pressure. I'll connect those sensors when I get the motec :)

Select Input pin setup/ xyz pressure setup --> Change --> Select input source --> Select custom calibration (PSI 1 decimal place) --> Select table --> 1V and 5V on top row and 0 PSI and 100 (250) PSI on bottom row -> OK -> OK....

that looks easy and straight forward thing, thanks so much. :)

I'm excited to buy the motec M800 plug and play and connect those sensors so I can datalog my oil and fuel pressure :)

I was't able to PM you for some reason, but I just wanted to ask:

I'm thinking of getting the same pressure sensors as you have for fuel and oil pressure logging. They look good. Do you recomend them? Have you had any issues with them?

sorry it took me a very long time to reply, somehow my PM is not working too and I haven't checked this for a very long time. :(

I use the 100 psi sensor as fuel pressure sensor, it was ok to use as fuel pressure sensor, no problem whatsoever.

I used the 250 psi sensor as oil pressure sensor, I think it got busted when my engine's coolant temp (and oil temp) went very high due to failing radiator fan motors.
