Variable cam sensor (Searching / Bad Pitch)

Postby CraigComet on Wed May 15, 2024 3:15 pm

Hi,
Ford Coyote V8 - the VCT sensor diagnostics are OK for normal driving, but occasionally cycle through "Search / Bad Pitch / Bad Sensor" shortly after a more aggressive throttle input. An example is shown in the attached log.
Would this normally point to a mechanical issue (such as a timing chain not being controlled adequately under tension), or is it truly likely that multiple VCT sensors could be on the way out at the same time?
Thanks
Craig

Hi,

Do you have an input capture of all of the cams, and the Package that is in the M1 that you can upload?
