Running PLM & LSU4.2 pre turbo

Postby rickytcf on Wed Mar 14, 2012 2:03 am

Hi All,
Is it possible to run the PLM with a LSU4.2 sensor pre-turbo?
Will the back pressure at pre-turbo cause incorrect reading?

I want to do individual cylinder trim on turbo engine.

Thanks and best regards

The back pressure will cause a drift in the output for a given reading. If ou can find the Bosch sensor data sheets they give the drift rate vs pressure. You can add a pressure sensor and use it to compensate for the drift. I don't know how long the UEGO will last at the elevated temperatures there though.

You can use the Lambda comp table, but it appears that you can only tweak the aim table to "trick" the ECU or compensate for the drift without actually getting the correct reading, just the apparent LA and the compensation ratio(backpressure)

If you are going to use it for logging, you will need to create a calculated LA from the sensor reading and the backpressure.

Hope that helps
