Firmware version in PLM not compatible with ECU ?

I have an oldish PLM with V1.00 firmware. I have an M800 running latest software that has dual Lambda enabled. It talks to one WB sensor via the ecu loom, and the second on (RB26 Skyline engine with two wideband sensors) via CAN BUS. At least it should... :) The ecu loses connection to the laptop as soon as the CAN BUS lead is plugged into the PLM. A UK Motec trained guy has checked the wiring and agrees I have it correct. I have tried with and without resistor terminators. He thinks I need to upgrade the firmware in the PLM. Do I need to send this in to Motec themselves, and is this a known problem? The PLM works fine driven direct, and both sensors are good, as I have tried swapping them over. Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to upgrade the PLM firmware in the field.

You need to return it to Either MoTeC UK, MoTeC USA, or MoTeC australia. We can upgrade it for you to the latest version.

I don't suspect that this would cost much or anything to do, depending on where you go.
