tacho wire to cut

hi, i have a autometer tacho "Sport comp 2" part num 3699 and a motec ignition system cdi 41012 for a rotary 13bt

Now my question is does any one know here what wire i cut in the back of the autometer to get the correct reading on the gauge, as it has a blue wire and a brown wire and do i cut one or both or neither , they have a diagram for 4 cyl, 6 cyl and 8 cyl but alas no rotaries

thanks or do i have to speak to autometer and if i do what specs do i tell them, as in what output is the rotary cdi gonna be

oh well bugga it,i cut the brown wire and it seemed to run 500rpm lower than what my laptop said when i had it plugged in, now to re join it and go back tonight and cut the blue wire to see what it does

ok for future reference its the blue wire to cut on the autometer gauge, IN MY situation
