non resistor spark plugs for Subaru STi?

Postby 07-EDM-STI on Fri Aug 21, 2009 12:45 am

I'll put M&W Pro 14 CDI to my STi and will also use M800 PnP.

The Pro 14 manuals says to use non resistor spark plug if possible, the stock plugs of the STi is resistor type. I don't know if I can safely put a non resistor type with my STi if I use M&W Pro 14. The only experience I had with a non resistor plug was with my former Evo 5, I was sold a non resistor plug by a local shop here, my odometer died and my rpm was not functioning while the non resistor plugs were in my Evo 5. After I replaced the non resistor plugs with the stock plugs, my tachometer functioned again but my odometer permanently died :(

anyone ever tried putting non resistor plugs with M800 PnP ecu and using CDI ignition? thanks in advance

no problem at all with the resistor type plugs, M&W manual just recommends non resistor type for maximum spark. I guess I'll just use resistor type plugs to avoid posible problems
