I have *just* fathomed this out, but thanks for the offer. The cause was my using an RB25 engine loom (the car is an R33 GTS-t that originally had an RB25DET engine in it, of course), with an RB26 engine and igniter. It appears the RB25 igniter has the larger and smaller loom plug sockets transposed, so my loom combination plugs an RB26 igniter in back to front... I swapped the small RB25 engine loom side igniter plug for the larger RB26 one, and got an RB26 coil loom, with the small igniter connector, and all is resolved. Luckily I did't *ugger the 2 igniters I have, either, nor the Motec... Finally it all works and the engine can meet the dyno soon. Thanks again. BTW, is there a way to check the idle control valve (stock Nissan) operation and the turbo boost control valve (Delco 3 port) from any diagnostics on the ECU?
