Which CAN address does the SLM use?

Postby Nevalite on Fri Aug 31, 2012 12:11 am

Hello,

I am going to try and make my own custom made SLM using a Motec M400, an arduino and an arduino CAN-BUS shield. I was wondering if anyone knows what address the SLM uses to get the RPM signal? I am going to try and use that address to code something in arduino and make my own SLM.

Thanks

The SLM does not take inputs in directly from sensors such as RPM.

The SLM has a dedicated CAN message which merely tells the SLM which light to turn on, at what brightness level, and what colour to be.

If you were to recieve into your device the CAN message usually sent to the SLM, that is all you could take from it. Control of the SLM is handled by the ECU or Dash.

Is there any documentation about the format of the CAN messages the ECU sends?
