Programming of SLM on old ADL

Postby Zman on Wed Feb 07, 2024 9:10 pm

Hi Brains Trust,

Couple of questions if anyone can help please? I’m working with an ADL 1 that has an SLM wired into it.
I’m looking for any info that tells me how to program the slm with the numbers for colours and offset numbers for light Positions.
I saw this somewhere but can’t find that info again.

Secondly can I program the lights to do anything else once a shift light has been assigned to that specific light?

Hope this all makes sense? Sorry I’m the driver trying to do boffin stuff haha

Cheers Marcus

Do you have the CAN-based SLM or SLM-C (4-pin DTM connector), or one of the earlier 4 or 9 LED modules (6 pin or 8-pin DTM). The earlier ones used the Aux outputs to control 4 fixed color lights / light patterns.

There is a Dealer Tech Note (DTN0012) on setting up an ADL with an SLM. Perhaps Stephen can post that.

Ok, so I’m pretty certain it’s via Can, as I have to program it via communications in dash manager. It is under the Can 1 tab of communications.

I have it programmed where the warning light for example is in offset 7 and the colour is numbered 31 for red. If that makes sense?
