Determing PDM firmware version
Posted: Sat May 16, 2026 9:58 amA new-to-me car has arrived in the shop. It has a PDM16, M150, and ADL3.
I have not been able to retrieve the PDM configuration. Using latest PDM manager (1.91T) or vers 1.8.x, the PDM is found, but I get a message that there is no configuration. Since the car is working, I think it just has incompatible firmware.
So I tried PDM Manager 1.7, since it was the latest version for a long time. It does not identify any PDMs -- so is there a compatibility issue with the USB driver for the UTC, Motec Discovery, or something else?
I'm open to any suggestions for the best way to approach this. I thought about checking the PDM Firmware in the ECU, but I think the Firmware is only reported in version 1.9+ based on the CAN Comm Templates used for the Dash.
