CAN message output_Global_error

Postby nybimmers1 on Tue Feb 13, 2024 3:12 am

HI guys,

I see the PDM15 puts out on CAN messages for current output, overload, status ,global error that can be logged .
I use a Race Technology DASH2PRO as my logger . Would i be able to use the DASH2PRO unit and see the those output values in the the logger ?
I had a few instances where the entire power was cut on track and i suspect an overcurrent , overtemperature issue with the PDM . The car has CARTEK battery isolation system . I have checked all the connections ,replaced DT connectors and pins and entire CARTEK isolation system with both switches .
i have attached the config file .
Much appreciated,
Adrian

Hi,

You will need to contact Race Technology regarding this question. The MoTeC PDM transmits a standard message set that is then read by the receiving hardware, it is then up to the receiving device to have templates that allow for the received data to be interpreted and used.

You will be able to configure the CAN messages from the PDM in the RT Dash Pro Configuration Software.

The PDM User Manual has all the necessary CAN information. It's just a lot of work.

They do have a button to import a DBC file, which could save you some time.

I was looking through the RT software before, but I missed the DBC import function in it.
