PDM30 and Alternator Charge Light

Hey guys,

Wondering if a setup like this will work?
I'm trying to use the charge light signal from the alternator as a trigger to wake up my Astra power steering pump.

My idea is to wire the charge light as normal but to splice the wire from the alternator to an input channel on the PDM30 and program the PDM30 to power the pump when it sees voltage on that input channel.

Hopefully this makes sense and will do what I want it to do.

I have a diagram drawn up but can't figure out how to attach it.
