Wiper Motor Park

Postby Turby on Tue Jul 07, 2020 7:10 am

Hi All,

I have one of the older PDM30's which doesn't have the extra wiper functionality on Output 9, I can get it to park (ish) but the position varies by up to 5 cm as the motor spins down. Is there any possible way to emulate the motor brake functionality of the newer PDM's with an add on relay, diodes or other components or circuity?

Many thanks

Pages 7 & 8 of the PDM manual have examples using a relay

Thanks for the info, should have looked myself! :?

So having read that the pin outs for my wiper motor and change over micro relay are shown below,

And when applied to the relay method as show in the PDM manual, I come up with the following shown below

Wiper 2

Does that look correct? Seeing as my wiper only has four connections I assuming the wiper motor is also grounded through its body to the chassis.

I'm also assuming the PDM output to relay pin 1 is always on, and the wiper is controlled by output to relay pin 4 (always on for fast / slow wipe and flashed for intermittent wipe) ?

Cheers
Toby
