PDM pin jaws for modular crimp tool.

Postby the_bluester on Mon Jan 23, 2017 1:22 pm

I am trying to find a set of jaws for modular crimpers like the ones listed under motec #67024

http://www.motec.com.au/s-wi-componentr ... glooms-tl/

Does anyone have a part number for the replaceable jaws only? I already have the crimper frame with other jaws in it but finding the right jaws for the AMP Superseal 1.0 sockets has been a fruitless exercise. You would reckon they were an uncommon connector type rather than being fitted to probably 75% of the aftermarket ECU's sold in the last two decades.

If you're talking about the AMP Pro-Crimp die set, you won't like the price. Best place to look is on the Tyco/TE Connectivity website for P/N's. If its the superseal 1.0 like Mx00, the cheaper versions do a decent job. You gotta do a lot of crimping to justify the price of the pro-crimp.

Yes, same pins as the hundred series (Not with the motorsport connector obviously) There are any number of cheaper frames available similar to the TE Pro-crimper (And pretty sure this is what the Motec one is in fact, a non genuine crimper of similar style, they are marked as made in Taiwan for one thing)

The Motec one looks very much like it has removable jaws so if I can track down the jaw part number I may be able to get the jaws for my own tool. I have used both my friends Motec supplied one (Which I cant regularly borrow, he lives a four hour drive from me) and the plain pliers style ones. The good ones certainly do a superior job.
