coolant.fan.2 from M150

Postby oversteer on Mon Jun 03, 2024 12:10 am

Hello

Is there a CAN message sent by default for this from a M150GPR ? is so what is the CAN message config to put in the PDM15 ?

If there isn't I should be able to send a custom can message ? ...default CAN ID 0x821 ok to use ? what other parameters are needed at both ends ?

Cheers

Any reason you can't just the values in the standard ECU "PDM" transmitted data and some functions?

To transmit CAN messages to a MoTeC PDM set PDM CAN Bus to the CAN bus connected to the PDM. All selected output resources of the following kind: 'PDM Byte x Mask xx' are transmitted on ID 0x11A. In addition, the following messages are transmitted on ID 0x118:
•Byte 0 (Data size 8 bit, Mask FF, Divisor 1): Engine Speed in rpm/100. This will result in a value of e.g. 21 for an engine speed of 2100rpm.
•Byte 1 (Data size 8 bit, Mask FF, Divisor 1): Throttle Position in %.
•Byte 2 (Data size 8 bit, Mask FF, Divisor 1): Vehicle Speed in km/h.
•Byte 3 (Data size 8 bit, Mask FF, Divisor 1): Coolant Temperature in °C.
•Byte 4 (Data size 8 bit, Mask FF, Divisor 1): Engine Oil Temperature in °C.
•Byte 5 (Data size 8 bit, Mask FF, Divisor 1): Fuel Temperature in °C.
•Byte 6 (Data size 8 bit, Mask FF, Divisor 1): Transmission Temperature in °C.
•Byte 7 (Data size 8 bit, Mask FF, Divisor 1): Differential Temperature in °C.

I have all those CAN inputs configured, and as far as I can tell coolant fan 1 is the only coolant fan trasmitted ?

The second coolant fan on my car is an AC fan... so how do I run that fan only with AC ?

Further to that my main engine fan is PWM driven, so no motec PDM help there !, and there is a third fan on the oil cooler which I can run using PDM logic.

Is the config "M1 CAN Messaging Template.pdm" the complete list of varibles from the M1 ?

Have you reviewed the M1 to PDM CAN Messaging PDF? see attached.

The PDM output resources are normally what you would use if you want to make use of the control system within the M1.

For example PDM Byte 0 Mask 01 can be used as the output resource in the M1 then this single bit CAN signal can be referenced to activate an output in the PDM.
