Retractable Headlight Control

Postby HKS_TRD on Sun Sep 15, 2019 12:18 am

Based on the schematic below, will I need to use one PDM output to raise the headlights and then a second output to drive the motor to lower the headlight.
The logic of when to raise and lower the headlights is a whole other can of worms based on two inputs but in the first instance I'm trying to determine if driving the motors directly will require more outputs than powering them through the integration relay

How much of the wiring that is shown in that schematic is still in the car?

If it is all there then all you do is feed the entire circuit with a single output from the PDM. If there are parts missing then it gets a bit more difficult to replicate the functionality but it should be possible.

All the wiring is still there, so that is an option.
That integration relay also controls the headlight auto off function which disrupts the power to the coils of the headlight and tail light relays. That is one of the few creature comforts of the car I want to keep so its steering me towards keeping the integration relay if I can work out how to interface the PDM with the auto off feature
