SDL Mode Switch

Postby Gary100 on Mon Jan 18, 2010 2:06 am

Hey Guys

I was wondering what ground should I use for a mode switch to change displays?
i.e. Signal ground on pin 37 or battery ground on pin 4.

Is there any difference when used with a switch input (Pin 12)

Thanks Gary

I would think either would work.

Ideally use the signal 0v

Guys

Can anyone else confirm if it matters which ground is used for the mode switch?

Thanks

I have used a main common ground point for the dash and all the sensors. It won't matter which ground you use as they are all linked.

You also have to setup what the buttons do in the SDL dash manager program under 'input pins' then select the 'switch' tab. Calibrate it to be 'Low Volts = Active'. I think you also have to goto 'Display Setup' and the 'Channels' tab and tick the 'Mode Button' box for it to work. Then send that config to the dash and it should work.
