I want to display the time of day in the right numeric display. I can get time from the gps time channel. I need a way to display it as HH:MM. I need to add a time zone offset to the time. The GPS time channel records the time in 215959.900 ... 220000.000. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Thad

Ok, this wasnt as easy as It seemed, but can be done.. Here is the method (assuming you have an ADL2)

*Go into your communications setup, select the GPS template then advanced
*Click onto the recieved channels tab, then Add.
*change the settings to match the following picture (you can edit the channel name to time if you wish)

timecom.jpg
comms channel settings
timecom.jpg (35.34 KiB) Viewed 10503 times

This now gives you a channel with only hours, minutes and tens of seconds.

Next setup your display

Go to your right numeric, and add in the newly created time channel. Set it up with the enunciator of Time, and set as having 2 decimal places, thus truncating the tens of a second value.

you will now see 4.20 for 4:20am. I cant work out a way to give you a Colon instead of a dot, but it is still a good solution I believe.

If you are using the Garmin GPS18 or 18X instead of the blackline, you should use these settings instead.
