CDL3 GPS, Odemeter

Hi All, I'm connecting a used CDL3 to my M800 and SLM and am starting to learn how to program it. Most functions work but I have some issues:

GPS: I got it with the GPS (LocosysLS23036). I guess this is the 10Ghz version. It is connected to the loom with the DTM connector and flashes when powered up. I do not get any satellites and no speed reading
> What connection does this combo use? RS232CAN or just plain RS232? How do I need to program this to make it work?
> Where should I position it? Tried on the rollbar inside the car but I'm afraid it needs to go outside on the roof.

Odometer: For MOT I need to have a working Odometer. I understand this needs the GPS functionality but I also would like to reset the default value.
> When I try to reset is asks for a password. Is there a default password?

Thanks in regards!

With the GPS, it uses the RS232RX input, and the GPS - Standard RMC GGA template for communications. you need to have the antenna located in a position on the car where is has a clear view of the sky, so inside the car will not work, even some windscreens in new cars will block the signal as well.

Also, make sure that it isn't plugged into the 12v+ wire, as this will kill the antenna.

With the Odometer, this value can be changed, however the dash has to go back to a dealer for security reasons to have this done, I am presuming that as you are taking about a MOT that you are in the UK, I would contact MoTeC Europe directly to organise this.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for your support! Got it working now with the RS232RX setting on 38400 baud. Can confirm it also works inside the car while mounted on the rollbar!

Rgds,
