DASH with external lighting

Postby pnanassy on Fri Apr 08, 2011 4:22 pm

Hi,

anyone used a non-backlit dash in dark conditions with external lighting?
Will that be usable?

Thank you,Peter

I have seen a race team use a normal dashboard globe on the steering column with a carbon fibre shroud buit around it to direct the light only over the display.

Should have worked ok, but didnt see it in use.

regards

jamie.

Ive seen this before, and in a rally car of all things. I saw it when it was dark on a night stage, with white LED`s shining on its face. I really think spend the extra bucks and get yourself a backlit display.

The LEDS tend to have bright spots on the display and you get reflected light off the glass.
