SDL display next line

Hi there,
Sorry for the dumb question but,
I am trying to get the next line function to work on an SDL.
I have set up the next line in dash display/channels and in Input pins/switches.
I have set up the switch for active low.
I test the switch in test mode and i see it work, confirmed by changing from 0 to 1 when switch is pressed.
Do i need to set up a Mode Switch also for this function to operate, if so is it possible to parallel input switch 1 and 2 together (set up as input 1 mode switch,input 2 display next page) to save fitting another switch.
Would there be any issues with connecting input 1(Mode switch) permanately to 0 volts,so that the Next page button works all the time without the need for a seperate Mode buttton.

the next line switch should work as you have mentioned, but here are a few things to check.

1) there should be a digital input pin assigned to next line
2) this input pin should be referred to in the channels tab of the display setup.

Now keep in mind that the SDL can have 3 pages. Note which page you are on, Race, Practice or Warm up.

ensure in the display setup screen that you actually have more than one line on the bottom of the display setup in the page that you are using.

thanks for the reply.
I got it working yesterday.
I was misunderstanding what Next Page and Next Line actually meant.
I have set up my 3 next pages and they work.
Now i just have to set up the next line set up
I have set up Input 1 as next page and input 2 as next line.
I have them both set to 0 volts active (low).
However you suggest that i must use a Digital Input for the next line to function, not a non digital input.
Is this correct.

Hi Jamie,
I used Switch input 1 for Next page and Switch input 2 for next line and it all works fine.
I did not use any Digital Inputs.

The switch inputs are technically digital inputs too.
It doesnt matter whether you use switch or digital.
