linear pot issues

Postby CDX on Mon Jun 01, 2009 12:02 am

a loom ive inherited has its 75mm linear pots set up like this;

5v from e888
sense to adl2
ground to e888

ratiometric 5v setup with 0mm as 0v and 75mm at 5v

it doesnt really work, like when i move the pot, it gets a max change of 2mm. ive tried other pots and all 4 plugs. its odd, im thinking maybe it needs to be a circuit within the adl2 for it to work properly?

its a fair bit of effort to make it how it should be, all on the adl2, but if i have to do it i will.

any help wish this would be greatly appreciated!

thanx

Hi CDX,

Your current setup is not ideal, you can try getting the power supply for the sensor from the ADL2. Have you measured the voltage on the signal wire as you vary the linear pot to check the voltage?
