Everything OK. I found the two templates and saved them to can 7 and 8.
Thanks!
then I can now turn to the next problem.

Hello,
i have a used Wiring Loom from the British Superbike Championship.
The can bus always jumps back and forth between on/off and the error messages
"Can bus time out" and "transmit error passive".
Maybe someone has an idea what I can do there.

First, I would find documentation from whoever built the harness. If it's got a part number or serial number, they should be able to provide documentation.

Next, I would check the CAN bus termination is in place. WIth no devices powered on, you should measure between 30 and 100 ohms between CAN Lo and CAN Hi. If there is no resistance, then the bus needs to have termination added. This may have previously been done with some other CAN device, but you need to fix it to communicate between your M170 and ADL2.

If the wiring is OK, then I would check each of the CAN devices. It looks like your package has LTC, GPS comes from the Dash over CAN.

Which diagnostic is providing "CAN bus time out" and "transmit error passive"?

Yes, can Bus Time Out, and can Bus Transmit error passive.

With the ignition off, I measure 33 ohms with the ADL and SLM, and 50 ohms with the ADL and SLM removed

Hi,

That sounds like there is three 100 ohm resistors in the CAN Bus, this will not cause the errors that you are reporting. If you power up the M1 without the SLM and ADL connected to the Bus, and then connect each of them separately to the Bus, whilst watching the CAN Bus Diagnostics, does one of them in particular cause the issue? It may be that the ADL is running at 1mb Bus speed, and the M1 is at 500k.

No, I get the error messages even if ADL and SDL are not connected.

In the ADL connector is a 100 ohm resistor between pin 75 and pin 76 from the previous owner of the ADL 2.
Should I remove these?

Hi,

If you are getting the error message on the M1 with no devices plugged into the CAN Bus then something else is going on. Can you either post the M1 Package file here, or send it to Support @ Motec.com.au

I wouldn't remove the CAN terminating resistors yet.
