ADL2 and external Laptimer

Hi

I have a small problem. On my GSXR 1000 L7 I had the original display. I can’t replace the display because some configurations can only be set with the Display (TC and engine mode for example) so I decided to use my old ADL2 as a Datalogger in the back. The original display has a menu for laptimes which will updated the laptime by the flash switch. In the yoshimura harness the pin is on the logger connector. So, I connect it with the Aux 1 Output of the ADL2. For the laptime I user a GPS Mouse BL10 this works fine.
So now my question how I can send an impulse to Aux out 1 for laptime signal. My first test was a user condition. In the condition I set if Lapnumber updates set condition1. And after this I say condition1 is Auxoutput 1 but after some rounds I see that the lapnumber will change but the condition 1 is always 0 and I see no laptime in the display. Has anybody a better idear?

Regards Thorsten

I've done this type of thing before. First you have to understand the signal that generates the lap time (flash switch) -- does this signal go to ground when the switch is depressed, or is it raised to 5V or 12V. Does the signal going into the ECU/Stock Dash have a pull-up resistor to force the signal high when the switch is not depressed, or a pull-down resistor to force the signal to be low when not depressed.

Next, you may need to make yoru condition momentary (like pushing the button). I believe the ADL channel "Beacon" will indicate a non-zero value for a short period each time you are near the GPS coordinates of the start finish.

So I would make a user condition with Momentary activation when "Beacon" > 0. Then set the Aux Out to use Off/On mode with the desired polarity.

Give that a try and see if it works for you.
