ADL8 to Honda Fireblade HRC Kit ECU

Postby vilspill on Thu Aug 14, 2014 10:22 pm

Hi, Can you tell me if it's possible to run an ADL8 Dash with the Honda HRC ECU?
I own an historic Honda Fireblade that was raced by Honda UK in 2005, it was set up with ADL Dash, M880 ECU and Loom, at some point it was converted to HRC Dash / ECU and Loom.
I've purchased a second hand ADL8 Dash and 79pin connector and would like to modify the HRC loom to run the Motec ADL8 Dash.
Any help would be appreciated. :D

The Honda HRC ECU which is available now is not compatible with MoTeC dashes, as it does not output RS232 or CAN, so it can be assumed that a 9 year old HRC ECU will be the same.

You could piggy back the ADL8 onto the stock system, so that it logs the standard sensors. This would involve splicing into all the sensor signals and wiring into the dash ie coolant temp, airbox pressure, crank signal etc.

Thanks Alan, do you have a wiring diagram for the ADL8 that shows more info than drawing number ADL2-L1? Also if I fitted a Power Commander5 could i use this to feed rpm info to the ADL8 Dash?
Thanks in advance. Lyle

Hello Lyle, I have attached the old ADL manual which has the information you need.

Regarding the Power Commander, sorry but I have not used one before so am not aware of its capabilities.
