SDL connect with M84

Postby SMChipTuning on Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:00 am

I had never before worked with Motec, so I apologize for the issues.
Our company has been working with others stand alone system but now we want to try MOTEC.

I thought that I have SDL3 but when I discovered that it is not, the connection between the SDL and the notebook I have established over the CAN line and it works, but now I have no communication with the M84 over the CAN line.

Now pins 9,10,24 and 25 from SDL are not used.
Can I use them for USB communication with PC or I can use CAN line for connection between PC and SDL ?
SDL and M84 can be connected over same CAN or I need to use RS232 or another CAN?

I am very confused by all these versions, protocols, devices ...

Can you tell me how the best and easiest way to connect to SDL, M84 and SLM?

Thanks and sorry for my trivial questions ...

Hi,

The best way is to connect the M84, SLM and SDL together via CAN BUS. To download data from the SDL while still being able to communicate with M84 through ECU Manager and UTC is to use the USB connection between your laptop and the SDL.
