ADL and MDD setups sheet

I want to use an ADL in 'dumb' mode, and use my MDD to display.

Could someone please give me a base setup sheet? I can't get my MDD to display anything, it just says 'WARNING - Waiting for Device Data.'

Thanks in advance

There are comms templates for the MDD in dash manager for ADL3. Can you download this, copy them amd reproduce them in your ADL?

Chelspeed - Thanks for the response.

The comms template in dash manager does indeed tell me that I should be sending over packet 0E8, but if you click on 'advanced' then the template is in fact blank.

I am aware that a compound message needs to be sent, and the first ID is 8005, but how much info can I have under that ID? Is it 3 items per ID? And how to the ID's count up? Do they go 8005, 8105, 8205, 8305....

Can anyone who is using an MDD with and ADL in dumb mode answer this question? The steps are:

Connections
Communications
Select Tab, then select MDD Transmit (ADL Display)
Advanced Tab
Transmitted Channels

Then you will be presented with the table which tells you what IDs are used. I'd like to know how to set this table up please!!

Thanks in advanced

There are 14 MDD templates in ADL3 manager, some need extra transmitted channels some don't.

If you choose Orig ADL display then there are no extra transmitted channels and the MDD just displays what's set up to display on the ADL, on mine revs along the top, gear in the middle and a couple of temps, plus you get the alarm messages along the bottom.

If you choose horizontal graphs for example then you need to send ranges, max and mins and finally what parameters to display. I've set up both as examples and they work but I don't recall where I got the formats from. I'll have a hunt around.

Found them - here.

The 8xEGT for example comes pre set-up with the ranges, max and mins already set up in the transmitted channels. So I think if you choose a template that comes without any transmitted channels included then you don't need any.

When you say you want the ADL to be in dumb mode have you already cleared off all the stuff in the ADL display set up? If so then that could that explain why your MDD is blank too, all working as intended. Doesn't explain the waiting for data message though.
