Downshift light using SLM

Postby Holmz on Sat Jul 24, 2010 9:47 pm

Looked at the pdf file for the SLM.
I have an ACL but no MoTeC ECU.

I want to set up the ACL so that when the brakes are on and I am decelerating over a certain amount, it then blinks an SLM with a downshift colour.
Probably this would be at certain speeds related to RPM in the next gear down.
So I would be having the ACL look at speed, deceleration and/or brake pressure.
And maybe RPM, so that if the RPM is below some amount (i.e. 4k) then the light does not blink, or a switched input for "track mode".

Is there a beginner 101 on this?

you should use the down shift configuration in the ACL.

If you go into the shift light setup, you will see the down shift tab.

in there, you can place a single RPM, below which you can down shift, or you can make it gear dependant, so that the down shift point is different in each gear.

the output of this setup is a channel called 'Down Shift Light'

Go into your shift light module setup. Add in a new light, with 'Down shift light' as the control channel.

now just setup the light pattern that you wish to use, and you are done.
